WCAG 2.1 AA Web Accessibility Audit
RD 1112/2018, EN 301 549, Section 508 and ADA compliance with official WCAG-EM (W3C) methodology for Public Administrations and Private Companies. VPAT/ACR delivery included. Applied by UX/UI accessibility experts.
One in six citizens has some type of disability. When your website is not accessible, they cannot complete a procedure, make a purchase, contact you, consult a regulation, or request help... Access to digital services is a right. We help you guarantee it.
Companies and public organizations committed to accessibility already trust us to make their projects and their clients' projects more accessible
Web accessibility ensures that all people, including those with disabilities, can access digital services.
Meeting WCAG 2.1 AA standards is a legal requirement in Spain (RD 1112/2018) and EU (EN 301 549).
Accessible design improves usability for everyone and expands your potential audience.
Accessibility audits identify barriers and provide clear guidance to make your product compliant.

Official WCAG-EM (W3C) accessibility audit methodology
We follow WCAG-EM, the official W3C methodology to evaluate web accessibility. It is a structured process that guarantees comparable, reproducible, and valid results for any external audit.
01
Initial diagnosis
We define the scope, which pages, which functionalities, and which technologies. We identify critical user flows and select a representative sample according to WCAG-EM.
02
WCAG audit
We evaluate each page in the sample against the 50 WCAG 2.1 AA criteria. We combine automated tools with expert manual review to detect what machines do not see.
03
Solution design
We document each issue with visual evidence, affected code, and a proposed solution. We prioritize by user impact and implementation effort.
04
Guided implementation
We support your technical team during remediation. We review code, validate solutions, and answer questions. We do not leave you alone with a PDF.
05
Final validation
We re-evaluate the corrected pages to confirm compliance. We generate the accessibility statement ready to publish.
Legal framework
We understand the legal framework.
Spanish, European and US regulations
Since September 2020, all Spanish public sector websites must comply with WCAG 2.1 AA under RD 1112/2018. This is not a future regulation: it is the current standard.
In the United States, Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act requires federal agencies and their contractors to make ICT accessible. The ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) extends accessibility requirements to private sector websites and applications. Both standards reference WCAG 2.1 AA as the technical baseline.
Since June 2025, the European Accessibility Act (EAA) is in effect, extending accessibility obligations to private companies offering essential services: banking, transportation, e-commerce, and telecommunications. Combined with EN 301 549, this means organizations operating across borders need multi-jurisdiction compliance, which is exactly what our audit delivers.
European Directive
Directive (EU)
2016/2102
Directive (EU) 2016/2102 establishes accessibility obligations for public sector websites and mobile apps. Its goal is to ensure digital services are usable by all people, with common criteria across the European Union.
- Defines compliance criteria based on WCAG
- Applies to public sector websites and apps
- Requires an accessibility statement and feedback mechanism

Frequently Asked Questions
Automatic tools (WAVE, Lighthouse, axe) detect between 25% and 40% of accessibility problems. They are useful for an initial diagnosis, but cannot evaluate criteria that require human judgment, such as whether an alternative text is descriptive, whether the reading order makes sense, or whether error messages are understandable.
Our audit combines automatic tools with expert manual review according to the W3C's WCAG-EM methodology. We evaluate all 50 criteria of WCAG 2.1 AA, not just those that a machine can detect.
Yes. Our audit follows the official WCAG-EM methodology (W3C) and evaluates all 50 success criteria of WCAG 2.1 Level AA, which is the standard required by RD 1112/2018 for public sector websites and mobile applications in Spain. The audit report includes the complete documentation required to demonstrate compliance.
The duration depends on the size and complexity of your digital product. A typical website audit takes 2-4 weeks, while larger applications may require 4-8 weeks for comprehensive evaluation. This includes automated testing, manual testing with assistive technologies, and report preparation.
After the audit, we provide guidelines and training to your team to ensure new content also meets WCAG 2.1 AA standards. We also offer ongoing support services and periodic re-audits to verify that your site maintains compliance as it evolves.
No. While we work with many public administrations that must comply with RD 1112/2018, we also help private companies who want to ensure their digital products are accessible to all users, improve their SEO, expand their market, and demonstrate their commitment to inclusion.
A VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template) is an industry-standard template developed by ITI that documents how a digital product conforms to accessibility standards. The completed document is called an ACR (Accessibility Conformance Report).
We deliver VPAT 2.5 in any edition — 508, EU, WCAG, or INT — as part of our accessibility audit service. This is especially important for organizations that need to demonstrate compliance across multiple jurisdictions (US Section 508, EU EN 301 549, ADA).
Yes. We test responsive websites on Safari and Chrome mobile browsers, as well as native iOS and Android applications. Our manual testing includes VoiceOver (iOS/macOS), TalkBack (Android), touch target sizing, gesture navigation, and compatibility with mobile assistive technologies.
We use the most widely adopted assistive technologies: NVDA and JAWS (Windows screen readers), VoiceOver (macOS and iOS), TalkBack (Android), and screen magnifiers like ZoomText. We also test keyboard-only navigation, visible focus states, and logical tab order to ensure real-world usability for people with disabilities.
Yes. After your development team implements the recommended fixes, we conduct a verification audit to confirm that issues have been properly resolved. Upon successful verification, we issue a Letter of Conformity certifying the achieved compliance level, which you can use for procurement processes, legal documentation, and public communication.
